-Handywrite Shorthand Dictation at 40 WPM- This is a shorthand dictation written at 40 words per minute. I'm (somewhat) using a method of shorthand called Handywrite, which is a light-line system that is very similar to Gregg. Note to other Handywrite users: I've made up many of my own "briefs" and abbreviations, and am also probably not using the correct vowels--I often am confused with the system of vowels used in Handywrite. I've been learning and practicing for about one or two months, and have reached this speed of 40-60 words per minute. I apologize for possible unclarities with the video, as I am only using the iSight camera that came along with my MacBook. **Also note that I there are many errors because of the odd angle of my writing with the camera. Thank you for watching my video, and feel free to comment or post responses of you writing any method of shorthand! -Brian Further links having to do with Shorthand and this video: www.en.wikipedia.org - The Wikipedia article on Shorthand. -Handywrite Shorthand Dictation at 100 WPM- This is a shorthand dictation written at 100 words per minute. This is a bit of a stretch for my speed, but I work to continually improve my abilities with shorthand. I'm (somewhat) using a method of shorthand called Handywrite, which is a light-line system that is very similar to Gregg. Note to other Handywrite users: I've made up many of my own "briefs" and abbreviations, and am also probably not using the correct vowels. I've been learning and practicing for about two or three months, and have reached this speed of 80-100 words per minute. I apologize for possible unclarities with the video, as I am only using the iSight camera that came along with my MacBook. **I'm sorry that it is backwards: I tried to write at the normal angle, and then use a mirror video effect; however, this made the video lag, and therefore not worthy of upload. -Handywrite Shorthand Dictation at 80 WPM- This is a shorthand dictation written at 80 words per minute. I've made a previous video of when I was at 40 words per minute, and this is the same dictation. I've used the same one as to allow for comparison. I'm (somewhat) using a method of shorthand called Handywrite, which is a light-line system that is very similar to Gregg. Note to other Handywrite users: I've made up many of my own "briefs" and abbreviations, and am also probably not using the correct vowels. I enjoy the diction on the free site named iKnow! The system is very cool. I like dictation and typing. I hope I can get more hearing skill and spelling skill.

Its been a year since I've started learning shorthand and even though progress over the last few months hasn't been significant speedwise, I figure I'll post a dictation. Unlike my previous dictation though, I haven't tried this text several times beforehand, so its a fair representation of me with a new text. Info about the dictation: Recorded by me on a voice recorder FROM: Gregg Speed Building for Colleges It is very convenient to do 120wpm takes because the book has a number marking every 20 words. As there is 60 seconds in the minute, I simply read up to each number every ten seconds.
